Trail Trot Thursday

We will have our very first Trail Trot starting on May 25th at 5pm. Our Trail Trots are available to help you and your dog work on your walking skills. We ask you to keep your distance and not let your dog rush up to other dogs as we may have dogs attending that need space to work on reactivity and/or build their confidence around other dogs.

6/8 @ 5pm – Van Patten Woods

An oak forest, 86-acre Sterling Lake and the Des Plaines River provide a picturesque backdrop for a variety of outdoor recreation activities at this preserve.

We will hike across the bridge and around the lake. It is just over 2.5 miles.

6/15 @ 5pm – Half Day Forest Preserve

The entrance is on Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) at the light for Woodlands Parkway, south of Route 60 (Townline Road) and just north of Route 22 (Half Day Road).

We will walk several combined sections of trail, including a partial grass trail. It should be just over 2 miles.

6/29 @ 5pm – Old School Preserve

One of our most popular spots, offering miles of trails, great bass fishing and secluded picnic spots in the heart of Lake County. Old School’s sled hill is one of the most popular features of this preserve and can be seen from I-94.
