Class Etiquette
To insure a positive experience for everyone please follow these simple rule:
- Please maintain control of your puppy/dog while in the parking lot. All dogs should be on leash at all times.
- Please arrive for your class on time. Late arrivals disrupt the class.
- Children are welcome to attend. Please make sure they can participate in class or have something do during class.
- Please, no people food or spillable drinks in the training area. Treats for your dog are mandatory!
Classes Are Not For Everyone (Or Every Dog)
Sometimes the classroom isn’t the right place for learning. Please bring any concerns you might have regarding your experience to us immediately, as this is the only way we can make changes. We value your feedback.
If you, or your dog, are not able to learn through traditional classes we have other options for learning. Private lessons and virtual training is also available.
Stress In The Classroom
Both you and your dog are subject to the daily stressors in your life. It is important to learn to recognize your individual dog’s stress cues. Some signs that your dog is having difficulty coping are:
- Panting (if not hot)
- Barking that is nearly constant
- Repetitive jumping/mouthing
- Inability to take treats
Dogs (and people) that have too much stress cannot learn effectively. Please talk to your instructor if you feel that your dog is too stressed during class, or if you see signs of stress during your dog’s daily life.
