What Makes Two Paws Up Dog Training Different?

Dog training is an unregulated industry so anyone can call themselves a dog trainer. There are are no universal standards for humane training techniques, no advisory boards, and many different “certifications” that people can obtain in dog training and behavior, but none are created equal.

At Two Paws Up Dog Training our training takes the dog’s age, developmental phase, and emotions into consideration. We offer an alternative to the “traditional” training that only “corrects” the dog for misbehaving. We believe in teaching the dog how we want them to behave!

WE DO NOT ALLOW CHOKE, PRONG (PINCH) OR ELECTRONIC COLLARS OF ANY KIND IN OUR TRAINING FACILITY.

Our Team

Our training team is lead by Stephanie Challand, a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) with more than 15 years of experience training dogs. Stephanie is also a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI). Our training philosophy is based on modern, science based training, not the techniques trainers used decades ago, or the misconception of dominance theory, which still permeates dog training today.

Our entire training team attends continuing education events yearly, and possess certifications in Service Dog Coaching, Family and Parent Education and more. We are proud to have 3 CPDT-KA trainers on our training team!

Class Size

Our class sizes are kept small for a reason! Less students and less dogs means less stress and more learning! It allows us to provide more individual learning and a better experience for everyone.

Training The “Whole” Dog

Dog training is not “one size fits all.” Every dog, and every owner, has different needs and goals. Our training looks not only at the client’s goals and challenges but also takes into consideration the emotional needs of the dog. A stressed out dog is not capable of learning!

Curriculum For Everyone

Modern, Science Based Training allows all family members to participate. Positive Reinforcement Training is family friendly and dog friendly! We offer a wide range of classes designed to provide enrichment and learning for your puppy, and positive solutions to the most common challenging behaviors.
