Adolescent Class
Our Adolescent Foundation Class is for puppies 20 weeks of age to 9 months of age. As our puppies mature, they go through different developmental periods. Adolescence is by far one of the most difficult times for us and our dogs!
You now have a little 4-legged teenager with teeth on your hands! This is the time when unfortunatley many dogs end up being turned into shelters, due to behavioral challenges that accompany this stage of life. We are here to help you navigate this very difficult time!
Consistency in routine and training is key! Our class will help you learn how to build basic behaviors you like and reduce those behaviors we do not like (ie: Jumping, counter-surfing, pulling on leash, etc.)
What will we learn in Class?
You and your puppy will build on what we teach in our Puppy Foundations course including many of the following topics & more.
- House & Crate training
- Sit & Down
- To Stay or Wait patiently to be released
- Polite walking skills
- To come when called
- Impulse control
- Body handling
- Socialization & puppy play
What do I need to do before class?
All puppies must have the age appropriate vaccinations in order to attend our classes. Vaccination schedules vary between vets. Here is a fantastic article explaining how vaccinations work with the mother’s immunity and how important that early socialization is!
Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a link to our FREE online virtual orientation. You need to complete that prior to you and your puppy attending the class. If you do not receive the email, please check your spam and then contacts us.
What is your payment/cancellation/missed class policy?
This class is a 6-week class that meets one hour each week at the same day & time. There are not any make up opportunities for missed weeks, but you will receive the homework from each class via email.
